Isak was born and raised in South Africa to one of Africa’s great social entrepreneurs, Peter Pretorius. Having travelled to the remote corners of Africa, he is intimately acquainted with the challenges and opportunities that exist across the continent.
Isak has developed an in depth knowledge of doing business in Africa and has an extensive network of relationships at the highest levels, resulting in an ability to identify and unlock strategic investment opportunities in many of the fastest growing economies in Africa. Isak is actively involved in investment advisory and capital raising services, with experience in structuring and raising capital for African businesses in multiple sectors.
Previously Isak lead the Joint Aid Management International (JAM) Group, which serves school meals to more than one million children in five African countries every day. The group is extremely vertically integrated, including food production and processing as well as large logistics operations, and affiliate organisations in the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. It was during this time that he witnessed how a community cannnot thrive without a stable economy an visa versa, which further ignited his urgency to sow seeds in the African economy.
His 15 years of on-the-ground operational experience working with businesses, governments and NGO’s across multiple African countries further shaped his innate passion to build strong African businesses with the conviction that Africa will be the bread basket of the world, the last frontier for industrialisation and the leader in middle market growth for the foreseeable future.
